Is Masuria worth adding to your Poland itinerary?
Yes, if you have time to treat it as a real stay rather than a quick stop. Masuria rewards slowing down: water, woodland and small lakeside towns rather than a list of sights. On a short, city-focused trip it is usually better left for another visit.
Who will enjoy it most?
Travellers who want quieter days by the water, walking, cycling or simply unhurried time between city stays. Couples and families looking for a change of rhythm after Warsaw or Gdańsk often find it a natural contrast.
When does it make more sense than another city?
When you already have one or two strong city stays and want landscape rather than a third set of museums and old-town streets. Choosing Masuria often means leaving out a city such as Wrocław or Poznań on the same trip, and that is a reasonable trade.
